Chilli Paneer Recipe – A Perfect Indo-Chinese Delight with Madhusudan Fresh Paneer

Chilli paneer does not disappoint you in case you like tasty snacks that appear restaurant-style and are also a bit spicy. 

This is the simple chilli paneer recipe that uses Madhusudan Fresh Paneer to make it soft and tasty. It is a very easy recipe and fast to make.

Ingredients For Frying the Paneer

  • 250 g Madhusudan Fresh Paneer (cut into cubes)

  • 3 tbsp Cornflour

  • 1/2 tsp black pepper powder

  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 cup water (for batter)
  • Madhusudan Butter or Madhusudan Ghee for frying

For Chilli Paneer Sauce

  • 1 tbsp Butter

  • 1 tbsp finely chopped garlic

  • 1 tsp chopped ginger

  • 2 green chillies (slit)
  • 1chopped medium onion (cubed)

  • 1 chopped medium capsicum (cubed)

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp red chilli sauce

  • 1 tbsp tomato ketchup

  • 1/2 tsp vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp sugar

  • Salt as needed
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

  • 1 tsp cornflour in 3 tbsp of water (slurry)

  • Chopped Spring onions

 

Easy Chilli Paneer Recipe – Step‑by‑Step Method

Step 1 – Prepare the Coating Mixer  

Mix cornflour, salt and pepper in a bowl. Mix properly.

Step 2- Coat the Paneer  

Dip the paneer cubes in a batter soaking each cube in the batter. Be careful not to mash them.

Step 3- Fry  Paneer Cubes

In a pan, heat butter using medium flame. Fry the cubes so as to get them slightly golden and crispy. Take them out and dry on the paper towels to get additional oil out of the fried cubes. 

(Remember: Do not fry paneer too long.)

Step 4- Prepare the Sauce  

Add 1 tbsp of madhusudan desi ghee or butter to a second pan or wok. Other ingredients to be added are ginger, green chilies and garlic. Saute half a minute until it smells good.

Step 5- Add Vegetables  

Add onion and capsicum. Cook on high flame for 2-3 minutes. Keep the vegetables crunchy so it tastes like the restaurant.

Step 6- Add Sauces  

Add chilli sauce, ketchup, vinegar, sugar, salt, pepper and soy sauce. Mix well.

Step 7- Make the Gravy  

Add the cornflour slurry and make the sauce cook until slightly thickened.

Step 8- Combine Paneer  

Add paneer cubes gently to ensure that each cube of paneer is covered with the sauce. Cook for only 1–2 minutes.

Step 9- Garnish and Serve  

Turn the heat off. Garnish with chopped spring onions. Serve hot as a starter or snack. Try with fried rice or hakka noodles.
